Home Addition Ottawa – Terry Fox Drive project had the most beautiful garages. However, we were hired and instructed to make a garage conversion into a living space. Conversion projects take a lot of dedication and effort to get the best results out of them.
Our team of designers and planners came up with several layout options to choose from. By the end of the project, the conversion appeared so seamless and beautiful; the renovated part of the house blended perfectly well with the rest of the house.
Garage floors are generally a little below the house flooring, so our prime objective was to raise the flooring to the height of the home’s floor with a raised or sleeper system. We also had to hide many of the services of the house, such as the water heater, furnace, laundry, etc., by shifting them to the other half of the untouched garage.
To promote the flow from the house to the newly constructed living space, we had to widen the door between the two areas. Our planners considered the house footprint before we decided to double the width of the door by running s strong beam across the header for more of an open floor plan feel.
We substantially altered the house fascia to match the walls that cover the garage door opening. We also created a roof created a beautiful roof over the converted garage that created a seamlessly beautiful exterior.
