Home renovation at Bakers Ridge, Ottawa, is Renosgroup’s most extensive home renovation project that we carried out with careful planning. A lot went into the home décor before the final elegant look where the traditional and contemporary niche combined was achieved.
The Bakers Ridge, Ottawa project was considered a large project which included floor replacement and repairing, fixing the foundation, dealing with water infiltration, and installing new windows and sidings. Our major objective was to focus on the structural strength of the house, and thus, we initially started with securing the foundation of the house and making the required repairs, such as working on weakened joints, walls, and carrying beams.
To create a decorative edge to the house, we added a small yet mighty design element to the house. The trims surrounding the doorway, windows, and staircase allowed us to cover the gaps between the area while being a decorative element that set the right style and tone to the room. They are also very practical, seeing how surface damage can be saved when trims get in the way. Furthermore, we also installed fluted columns, which appear to be a small addition but brought a big change to the outlook of the house.
Since we were working in the living room of the Bakers Ride, Ottawa project, we decided to opt for the sturdiest option of solid hardwood flooring. We also made sure to install the flooring as late as possible in the renovation process since it would save the flooring surface from significant damage.
