Kitchens are evolving and to keep up, it is important to get renovations done when possible. A kitchen we recently transformed was at the Draper Avenue, Ottawa. For this kitchen, we were responsible to take up a partial kitchen renovation. The tasks involved replacing the countertop for the kitchen as well as the sink, faucet, backsplash, and fixing light fixtures.
We started the project and ended up finding a few unprotected wire splices spread around the place that had created burn marks on the equipment. This could be a potential hazard for our client and without any further ado, we ensured they were covered and protected well to avoid any safety concerns.
Then, we started off by replacing the drywall with den shield. Once this was done, we used concrete screws to attach the new tile backer board to the cinderblock wall. We then installed a new laminated kitchen countertop for the space. This countertop was an integral part of the renovation process as it helped us understand where to start the tiling work from.
We started our tiling from the laser level and decided to go with a tile that was white alongside white grout. Once the grouting was completed, we installed a double kitchen sink for the kitchen. We also put in a single-lever kitchen faucet as well as shut-off valves for the supply lines.
For the final touches, we redid the drain under the sinks and the dishwasher. After this, we got our second coat of painting done on the ceiling and installed light fixtures on the wall once that was dry. We also installed the recessed kitchen fan.
We did some last-minute finishing touches to the wall. With everything done and dusted, the kitchen looked remarkable, to say the least.
